Eddie Murphy’s 10 Best Comedy Films
Eddie Murphy began drawing national attention for his comedy when he became a regular cast member on “Saturday Night Live” in 1981. His impersonations of James Brown and ethnic characterizations of Gumby and Mr. Robinson made him a fan favorite. Given his popularity, it was only a matter of time before his hilarious talent would move to the big screen.
Eddie Murphy has starred in a lot of movies, but some of them really stand out as his best films for uncontrollable laughter. Eddie Murphy is Billy Ray Valentine, a streetwise con artist who goes from rags to riches but eventually discovers that he is part of social bet between two millionaires.

Filmed at New York’s Felt Forum, this Eddie Murphy standup comedy video is just like the title suggests – raw, with shocking, funny routines and celebrity impersonations.
6. Beverly Hills Cop II (1987)
In this comedy sequel, Eddie Murphy’s funny character, Axel Foley, returns to Beverly Hills to help solve a series of local robberies.
7. Coming to America (1988)
Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall team up in this hilarious story about an African prince who comes to America in search of a wife.
8. Mulan (1998)
Instead of physically starring in this movie, Eddie Murphy shares his comedic voice as Mushu, the guardian dragon of a Chinese maiden who has secretly taken her father’s place in the army.
