Description

"A Soldier's Story" won the 1995 NAACP Image Award for Best Motion Picture and has an
all-star cast including Denzel Washington, Howard Rollins Jr. and Adolph Caesar.

It is a gripping story about the murder of a Black Sergeant on a military base in the deep south.

Captain Davenport (Howard E. Rollings, Jr.), is a military investigator who is sent to Fort Neal, Louisiana
to investigate the shooting death of a Black Sergeant. The Sergeant (Adolph Caesar) was killed late one night
while returning back to base and the murder appears to be racially motivated.

Davenport's arrival on the southern base, however, causes a big stir because he is a Black military officer - the
first to ever be seen on the base and a rank commanding respect even from White soldiers.

As Davenport conducts his investigation, he learns that there were many people, both Black and White
who didn't like the Sergeant and may have wanted to kill him.

Who did it and why?
