| Description |
What would you do if you have been living as a white person your entire life and then find out that you are really black? This is what Earl Pilcher, Jr. (Robert Duvall) must face in A Family Thing.
When the white woman he thought was his real mother dies, she leaves him a note confessing that he is not her son. He is actually the son of an African-American woman who used to work for her. Moreover, his real mother is deceased, but he does have a half-brother living in Chicago.
Earl decides to go to Chicago to meet his half-brother, Ray, (James Earl Jones). After the brothers meet, anger, mistrust and prejudice all rear their ugly heads. But the aged and blind, Aunt T. (Irma P. Hall) steps in and helps pull the brothers and family together. |
