Movie Summary
Tamara Dobson stars in "Cleopatra Jones" as the tough and beautiful CIA agent Cleopatra Jones.
“Mommy” (Shelley Winters) is upset! Thirty million dollars of Turkish poppy fields have gone up in flames
thanks to Cleopatra Jones (Tamara Dobson), a CIA agent who personally oversees the destruction of the
opium fields in Turkey.
"Mommy", who is the lesbian leader of a Los Angeles underworld crime ring, is bent on getting revenge against
Cleopatra Jones. She uses all of her inside connections to get back at "The damn Black bitch!"
But Mommy has met her match with Cleopatra Jones, who comes back to Los Angeles to bring down the
ferocious leader.

• Tamara Dobson became famous for her role as Cleopatra Jones. This movie was the first blaxploitation
film to star a woman as an action super-hero. Before starring in "Cleopatra Jones", Tamara Dobson had
an uncredited role in the movie "Come Back Charleston Blue" and had a small role in a movie named
"Fuzz."
• The Guinness Book of World Records recognizes Tamara Dobson 6’2” as the tallest leading lady ever in film.
• Tamara Dobson’s character, Cleopatra Jones, was the inspiration for Beyonce Knowles’ character,
Foxxy Cleopatra, in the movie Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002).
