"Claudine" is one of the most popular, famous Black Classic Movies of the 1970s.

Diahann Carroll plays Claudine, who is the mother of six children who tries to support herself and her family by working as a maid. One day she meets a charming garbage man named Roop (played by James Earl Jones). Although a romance develops between them, Roop is still unsure of the relationship because of his own trials in life.

Will Claudine and Roop be able to somehow find a lifetime of love with each other?

•  Claudine is one of the few African-American cast films made during the 1970s that was not a blaxploitation film.

•  Curtis Mayfield wrote the music soundtrack.  Gladys Knight and the Pips perform all of the vocals on the soundtrack.
