Sidney Poitier stars in "To Sir, With Love" as Mark Thackeray, an Black engineer who decides to
take a teaching position until he is able to get the engineering job that he wants. However, the class
that he is given is a group of rough students from the slums of London.
Nevertheless, Thackeray is able to connect with the students in a way like no one else ever wanted
to do or even attempted. The result is changed lives for everyone, including Thackeray himself.
British singer Lulu made "To Sir, With Love" even more famous because of her song "To Sir With Love."
Lulu stars in the movie as one of the students named Barbara "Babs" Pegg.
