"Rosewood" Movie Trailer

Movie Summary

"Rosewood" tells the true story about the terrible destruction of a prosperous all-Black town in 1923.

Starring Ving Rhames, Don Cheadle and John Voight, the movie is based on actual historical facts that were uncovered years after the incident occurred.

When a white woman falsely accuses a Black man of beating her, the people in the neighboring all-White town get stirred into a frenzy and decide to attack the Black townspeople. Initial newspaper reports stated that only 2-6 people were killed in the incident, but it was discovered years later that actually 70-250 African-Americans died.

"Rosewood" provides a dramatic and stark account of this little-known tragedy in American history.
