| Michael Jackson Biography |
Michael Jackson was known as "The King of Pop" having sold over 750 million records around the world. His 1982 album "Thriller" is still the world's bestselling album of all time. He has won 13 Grammy Awards and is one of the few artists to be voted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice - once as a member of the Jackson 5 and the other for being a successful solo artist.
In addition to his extraordinary music career, Michael Jackson starred in "The Wiz" a Top 100 Black Classic Movie. "The Wiz" was Michael Jackson's first starring role in a movie. Playing the Scarecrow, Jackson won the 1980 NAACP Image Award for "Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture" for his performance in this film.
Michael Jackson began his career as a member of his family singing group "The Jackson 5." In 1992, a television miniseries aired named "The Jacksons: An American Dream" that tells the story about the family's rise to musical fame and the pressures that came with it. The miniseries starts from when the parents met in the 1940s and ends with the 1983 Victory Tour that reunited all of the brothers on stage. |
