Oscar Micheaux Biography
Oscar Micheaux is the first African-American to produce a feature-length silent film and a feature-length talking film. His first film, The Homesteader, was based on a book that he had written with the same name. He is considered one of the most notable “Race Films” directors and producers of the era.
