| Brief Biography |
Eddie Anderson is most well-known for his role as “Rochester”, Jack Benny’s valet in The Jack Benny Show. He first started with Jack Benny on radio and then moved with him to television. His character “Rochester van Jones” was so famous that the name stuck with him and people just began calling him Rochester.
In addition to his comedy show with Jack Benny, Eddie Anderson appeared in many films, including three Top 100 BlackClassicMovies.com films. They are The Green Pastures (1936), Gone With the Wind (1939) and Cabin in the Sky (1943). |
