| Cicely Tyson Brief Biography |
Cicely Tyson is a television and movie actress who made her first major screen debut in the 1966 film, A Man Called Adam, with Sammy Davis Jr. She has appeared in over forty television and box office theatre release films.
Cicely Tyson became famous after her performance in the 1972 movie Sounder, for which she was nominated for a Best Actress Academy Award.
Cicely Tyson has appeared in five Top 100 BlackClassicMovies.com films: The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman, King, A Lesson Before Dying, Roots and The Women of Brewster Place.
